Safehouse Emergency Shelters

Emergency Shelters provide emergency housing for women and children on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault victims to prevent further spousal and child abuse. The advocates assist in establishing, or re-establishing, clients and their children with housing, schooling, job training and employment. Peer counseling groups are held for women and children (counseling in parenting skills, role modeling, self esteem). Advocacy is provided to intervene with other agencies, on behalf of domestic violence and sexual assault victims at hospitals, police agencies and outside agencies in a confidential manner. Food, clothing and medical services are provided to all clients in the shelters.
